However, it appeared the dealer acknowledged that the rear brakes were suppose to automatically adjust, upon backing up. The dealer indicated, he would have to pay to have them adjusted. The dealer indicated the rear brakes need to be adjusted. The consumer stated the rear brakes did not adjust. The dealer replaced the driver's seat belt stop. The consumer stated the part was an inexpensive two-part button that went through the strap which stopped the bucket from sliding down on the belt. When they broke, the seat buckle dropped on the strap below the seat between the rocker panel, which made it nearly impossible to retrieve the buckle. Consumer writes in regards to recommending a recall concerning seat belt stops the consumer stated the seat belt stops failed twice. I don't know who else to contact since GMC here and stateside, and he dealership I purchased it from in the states, are ignoring me.Ģ010 Chevrolet Cobalt. The most recent one was a few months ago at 0600. I have new tires and had my axles inspected, I know there is something wrong with my car and it is not safe. It later happened again a few months later. I had recently had an oil change and my breaks checked, so I know my car was fine. I finally got the car to somewhat slow down with the emergency break, and barely missed the ramp. I tried turning the wheel, but that was stuck. I tried restarting the car but the key was stuck. I was headed into a ramp and tried to stop with my breaks which didn't work. Another car was coming in but noticed I was drifting so they slowed down. I was headed to work and as I was coming into a small traffic circle, the car began drifting, I let go of everything and the whole thing shut off: engine and lights. Roads were clear and it was 12am, not many cars were on the road. I am really scared about driving my car again, even if this gets fixed. I have heard that there have been some accidents due to the engine ignition issues and other issues regarding to this car. I am not really feeling safe driving this car. However, even after this car gets fixed I am thinking that this car is not reliable to drive any more. I am going to ask gm to rent a car for me until the part gets fixed. I do really need my car for my daily commute. When I got the notification letter from gm I realized that I should report these issues that have been constantly happening to my car. I did not know anything about the chevy Cobalt recall. The brakes also are not working as I am pushing them hard. Also it takes me a while to switch the gear when I am in the highway. I turned my car off and I turned it back on in some couple minutes. It is happening every once a while but I never paid attention to it. All the sudden I smelled gas or burned oil. I was in my car driving back home from school. I got it used with 40000 miles on last year.
